Glossary of terms

SONDA PT-100

It is generically called as a probe the element that measures the temperature with a sensor called Pt-100.
The Pt-100 are generally platinum sensors that offer a value of ohms (resistance) as a function of the measurement temperature. They are called Pt-100 because they are normalized, their value being zero degrees, 100 ohms.
Just as there are Pt-100, there are other models like the Pt-1000.
The Pt-100 is the most used industrially.
There are variants depending on the tolerance.
We have class A or class B, and within the latter, of accuracies of 1 DIN, 1/3 din, or 1/10 DIN.

TEMPERATURE TRANSMITTER

When it is desired to transmit a temperature value remotely, the transmitters are used. They can be in chip format to be included in the probe head itself or close to the probe in Rail DIN format, for example.
We offer several options depending on the case.
We have analog transmitters, or with digital technology to program them with software.
ATEX versions or with communication protocols.

THERMOPARES

If we are working with high temperatures, or require very fast responses, we use thermocouples, which are still the union of two threads, therefore, the best response speed.
There are different types of thermocouples according to regulations and work range.
The most usual, the thermocouple K, J, T, B and S for high temperatures.
In thermal treatments, thermocouples are usually used with special protection covers (sialon, pyrocermet, ceramic K710, K610, silicon carbide, etc.)

ACCESSORIES: CABLES AND CONNECTORS

To prolong the connection of a probe, either special temperature cables are used or we use transmitters. Your choice depends on the costs and the associated electronics that exist.
Thermocouple connectors: There are two types, minis or standard.
Both cables and connectors are usually identified by colors.
We supply both compensation and extension cables.

DETECTION WITH OR WITHOUT CONTACT

By contact are understood the collectors or "canes" of temperature in their different varieties. They are simple probes or thermocouples with protective covers. When that technology can not be used, they are considered infrared transmitters.
Within that range, there are different options.
With fixed or variable emissivity.
According to focal distance.
With 4-20 mA outputs, or voltage. In option equipment with communication protocols.
